We made a gingerbread house from scratch. We made the dough and the frosting, cut out the shapes, baked it, built it, and decorated. Its a much longer process than we imagined. We had some problems with a roof falling off, and we were set back a bit when dad ate a cat (Tux) and three logs but by the end most of us were master gingersmiths. Our flavorful creation was a source of pride that by now is mostly digested.

Emily was the sculptor of the cats.
